The doctor says: This is what normal brain waves look like.
...and this...is what Lily's look like.
In case you couldn't tell, the two pictures didn't look anything alike. The good news is that she is developing properly and thriving. The bad news is that the question is WHEN the next seizure will come, not IF. So now we have a lot of prescriptions for drugs with some horrid possible side effects that we really don't want to give her. We need to make a decision on whether we want to start her on drugs right away or wait until the next seizure. We just don't know.
She will be getting an MRI within the next few weeks which will be checking for abnormalities, malformations, or the slim possibility of tumors. So, the best we are hoping for right now is a clean MRI and then we can get a better idea of what we want to do as far as medication. That's all we can do right now.
Oh, most of her unusually active brain activity occurs while she is sleeping so her seizures are most likely going to happen when she is asleep. Good news: That's a nice safe place for a seizure to happen. Bad news: We'll all be sleeping...or trying to anyway.

I'm sorry to hear about Lily's seizures. I have a cousin who has regular seizures and my aunt goes with alternative medicine. I don't know what that involves, but if you decide you don't like the medication route I can ask questions. Just let me know. She's a beautiful little girl. All your children are beautiful!
So sorry to hear this Laura-We will keep praying for her. I struggle with the medication thing all the time. Ava is now on three maintenance steroids for her issues and I hate it. We tried to go without, but it just wasn't in the cards- at least for now. We will pray that the MRI is clean and you can come to a peaceful decision about the medications.
beautiful baby

Hmmm. We're all praying for you. Sarah had to stop mid prayer to ask who her cousin was then she continued and blessed "her mom & dad too."
I love the pictures below, wish you lived closer.
We will keep you in our prayers. Lily is such a sweet thing. We hope and pray all will be well.
