When daisies pied, and violets blue...

We hit the Tulip Festival right on time. It was a gorgeous sunny day. Lily is not the best kid to walk long distances. She insisted on stopping to smell every color tulip and say, "Mmm!" before moving on to the next one. "Mmm!"

We picked our favorite colors and ran around the gardens playing hide-and-seek, yelling our heads off and sending old people and their walking sticks a-flyin' in our frenzied flights. We drew many a crusty eyeball from the blue-haired set.

There were a few vendors scattered about selling kettle corn, gyros, and such. We got a little fudge and immediately went into sugar comas. Never been a fan of fudge myself. I actually hate the gelatinous sugary/crack-cocainey choco-muck, but I thought the kids would like to try it. They put in their mouths and couldn't talk for a full 4 minutes. They didn't like it much either. Lily hasn't slept in six days.

All she does is swing all day.

It's a grand thing to be two in the spring!

I'm with you on the fudge. Never liked it. Every once in a blue moon I used to make it for Mike since mom made it all the time but most of it ends up going bad so I don't really try any more.

On the other hand, I LOVE tulips. I'd be there right by Lily. By the tulips. Sniffing.

oh, I'm tulip - jealous!! and the fudge sounds delightful, as well, seeing as I'm the sort to adore any dense chocolate, sugar, butter concoction. MMMMM...
