I must share this great Christmas activity we went to last night. It's called Journey to Bethlehem and it is put on by the Auburn Seventh Day Adventist Church. They build a 5,000 square foot model of the Jerusalem that you walk through. It was pretty impressive. Having spent time in the Old City, I've got to say, they have done an excellent recreation of the busy, narrow, noisy, streets. So there are all kinds of little shops, a blacksmith, money changers, synagogue, lepers, live animals, the inn, a carpenter, intimidating Roman soldiers, and a tax collector (which is why we traveled there in the first place).

The kids each got a gold coin to keep. They loved it. It's well worth the trip if you can manage it. It runs through Sunday. There's kind of a long wait, but they have music performances to listen to in the chapel while you wait. 6-9 pm, get there early.

We'll have to try and get to this! Sounds very cool. Thanks for sharing!
Oh, that looks outstanding. I wish we were closer so we could attend also. Glad you had such a great experience.
wow! That sounds amazing!
Hey Laura, we wanted to send you all a Christmas card. Can you e-mail me your address? It's nice to get something in the real mail once a year- right? Okay, maybe once every couple of years!
