At the beginning of December each of the kids cut out a Christmas tree from construction paper. They earn stickers all month by doing chores, being well behaved and such so they can decorate their tree. Then, depending on how many stickers they earn, they receive money to buy presents for each other.
I love this activity because they are working towards and thinking about giving gifts all month long rather than getting them. They love planning gifts for each other and are so excited about wrapping them and watching them being opened. It's a sweet thing watching my kids give each other warm lovey hugs on Christmas morning saying, "Thank you! Thank you for my present!"
